I used gouache to paint my door yesterday, and used the rest to paint a couple of page's backgrounds. It dries really matte-I like the effect, and that you can write on it quite easily. This page has a few things that made me happy yesterday. Today, I would add using free photoshop brushes-namely sparkles and pixie dust. I am afraid I have pixie dusted everything!
This is our tiny tree-it is a living tree and I am going to plant it in Forest School after Christmas. In front of it is a Christmouse. I just could not face getting out all the packed away decorations-especially as hardly any of them would fit on this tree. So I made button garlands to hang on it. I stood some lights behind it and voila!-tiny tree done!

wow........Beautiful
Great idea with the tree Sarah and lovely to think one day it will have it's branches covered in real snow.
It's the right time of year for pixie dust; keep spreading it and cat naps are mandatory hehe*!*
i adore gouache - i hardly paint with anything else! i love what you did with it!
Your tree is lovely Sarah and I really like the idea of decorating your tree with buttons! So cute, as is Cassie all snuggled up... reminds me of my George!
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
What fun to see what will come through the doors with each passing day!
Your little tree is the essence of the holiday. And the Christmouse is hilarious.
A cat is an excellent teacher of what is needed to feel good. Even if it means waking up the provider of canned food when they are trying to sleep in on a Saturday.
Your tree is lovely! All being well, I will put ours up next weekend. We used to have a real tree, but we had to be so careful of the dogs not getting needles stuck in their paws, we switched to fake, and although it's years since we had dogs, we still have a fake tree!!
I do like your Christmas tree and your way of decorating it - brilliant!
I must investigate pixie dust . . .
I am loving your advent daily drawings. Really good.
Sarah, your tree idea is wonderful! I love the button garland. And the thought that you will plant your tree just warms me! We don't believe in cutting down trees (even though it's a huge industry in NC) for use at Christmas. It seems so senseless to us. But a LIVE tree.... now that's a different story! Kuddos to you!
