There are lots of herons on the beach each morning. They are not too bad to zoom in on as they stay still very well. I really need to get a tripod as it is touch and go whether when you press the shutter the camera will not have moved slightly. I found some convenient rocks on the beach but that is not always the case!

herons have such great deportment. I love to see them flying, tearing and stitching across the sky.
I love your birdie photos!
Sarah,
It came to me this morning that I have been so busy that I haven't "popped in" on your blog for a while so I did just that..... and read back to half term
Firstly I am so glad you have been on what looks like an amazing holiday, you deserve it. Also I am pleased to read that you have lots of support from friends, colleagues and most importantly family. I am glad you had Jean in your life, a great story teller who has passed on the baton to you.
As for Ofsted and your head teacher, well as an experienced teacher it is a story I am all too familiar with.
You are very brave and I admire your ability to explain the painful details about your decision to leave. How articulate and yet not sentimental. Sarah it's their loss.
You are destined for better things, and I am really pleased you are exploring art. You are not alone and if ever you'd like a chat with someone who really understands just email me.

That last image reminds me of the guy in Despicable Me somehow.
Yes it does me too!
