Mudchute Farm

Tuesday was really hot so the sprinkler was a welcome sight. A hot pig.
The farm is on the Isle of Dogs and you can see Canary Wharf and the other tall buildings of the area just over the hill. It is such a lovely open green space-32 acres.
There are loads of beautiful horses.

The sheep were sweet and friendly, especially as we had food for them.

 This is a very happy pig who was most polite in the way he took the food from the children. You can't really do the flat hand thing that you do with horses and sheep as the pig's mouth seems to be arranged differently. So he opened his mouth gently and we kind of pushed the food in! I don't think all pigs are so polite, but this one was a sweetie.

Little dogs picked up from the street by Andy which are just perfect for the dolls houses and which are the best kind of present.

Foxes around the place. They are out and about day and night and I love seeing them. This one is a school fox,  and was spotted by the children after lunch, enjoying the sunshine.

Finishing things. This is the nearly finished display for the wild things-I just need to get a child to do Max tomorrow and the two girls who painted the fish to stick eyes onto them. It is next to the bed I showed last week.

I do feel mainly better now thanks. Just the sore throat.

A child in my class has glandular fever so I am wondering if that is what I have.

Farm Visit

We visited Godstone Farm in Surrey today. The part of the trip the children enjoyed the most was going in the barn with the goats, pigs, sheep and calves. The baby goats were just adorable and in this (short!) video they have a little tiny fight.The piglets were pretty cute too! These are the ones that Bobbie wanted to steal!
