Manimal

This is Manimal. He is looking up in case of predators. There are none in here, so he agreed to a photoshoot. He relaxed after a while, and enjoyed meeting up with the rest of the felty heads. Manimal has a crocheted base, as a change to a felted one.

Much quicker to construct and easy to felt him onto.

It is filled with poly fill which you can felt into.

Felt Head Three, Mohican Man

Please ignore the neglected and messy section of garden in which the felty head is posing. He said he doesn't mind too much about it, as long as I get it sorted out soon. I have listened carefully to him and will do so. This head took a long time. I have lost count of how many evenings I have spent making him, but I am pleased with the result. It is weird, but I never know how they will turn out, and this one has turned out looking like a sensitive poet to me. The mohican hair idea only came to me near the end, I wanted something colourful but simple. He is probably a good listener, as much as a felty head can be, because he has such enormous ears!

The whole thing is 45cm high, including base and hair. I have never made a felt thing so big before. Most satisfying. The next one is going to be slightly smaller, and animal related I think.

Things in Boxes For a Saturday Morning

Of course, Cassie is more of a person than a thing, but she is in a box.

And I do mean person-'Little furry person' was what my friend used to call our cat Boris.

Felty head on the way to becoming somebody.

Until then she is spending time in the box.
Coral beach in a box. We visited this beach on Skye. It is white and is made up of millions of tiny coral pieces. It is not really coral but some kind of algae, but it is coral shaped and so pretty. I took a little away with me. The other beach I stole from, was a black volcanic sand one, at the head of a loch and the foot of the Cuillins, it was a beautiful place.

Cassie in the same box on its side.

She is a little happier when there is a box around.
