We went for a meal in a Turkish restaurant on the Southbank today for our nephew's birthday. It was such a lovely day I went up a bit early so I could wander and take photos. Here is my short walk.
Southwark Cathedral.

The wrought iron work everywhere is beautiful.
A festive pig and a needy cow.
Some decorative umbrellas above a restaurant terrace.
The Globe theatre near to where we ate.
A detail of the brickwork on the Tate Modern.

Looks like a great day. You must have been so early. I've never seen Borough market that empty. Did you see any Peregrine Falcons nesting on the Tate, at the top of that brickwork?
I think I was late rather than early. In fact I am not sure if it was open yesterday though I should have thought it was. I didn't know Peregrine falcons nested on the Tate-will look out for them next time!
Your photos are stunning Sarah! What an interesting journey! Ros
