Moonshadow

'I'm being followed by a moonshadow, Moonshadow moonshadow', was what I thought of when I saw this shadow on my draining board the other night. It wasn't following me thank goodness, more calling to me. I have just googled the song as I could not remember who it is by. Cat Stevens. The rest of the song is quite strange.

The moonglow offers just enough light for shadows, and their character is dark and moody, unlike a sun induced shadow, which is often cheery. Ah, but a shadow is a shadow, the amount of light changes is character markedly it seems...

Ah, the old air-cooled VW, a loud cooling fan and an aluminum clang were unique. These days, I prefer my engine in front of me. But the old VW sound evokes charming memories...

That was a favorite song of mine, but I hadn't thought of it or heard it in a long time! Fun post for the day and wonderful, mysterious shadows! Hope you're enjoying a great weekend!

Cat Stevens was do dreamy to me as a teenager. Moonshadow is quite strange isn't it!

Ah! Cat Stevens! He had such a lovely voice, didn't he? Love, love, love your moon shadows! We had the most enormous harvest moon here last night and the previous two nights a bright, white full moon too - it seems that we've had a big moon for several days now! It's nice to think your moon shadows are cast by the same moon that I look at!

Not quite sure what exactly I'm looking at here but funny coincidence, my post for today also entitled Moon Shadow and quoting the same song!

Ghostly!

SHADOW, SHADOW

Shadow, shadow, if I could,
I would meet you in the wood,
Where the frenzied fairies play
In the blazing light of day.

But, dear shadow, I dare not
Go to that secluded spot,
For I fear the woodland path
And what’s more, the fairies’ wrath!

I recognized the song immediately and I fear it will be on my brain the remainder of the day. :) That's okay..I always liked Cat Stevens.

These are rather ethereal shadow shots. I like them.

Great shadow shot! That was one of my favourite songs many years ago. I have the album on vinyl, 'Teaser and the Firecat'! Now I'll be singing it all night, but who cares, I love it. Have a good weeek. Ros

I'm sitting singing it in my head - I've got a Cat Stevens greatest hits somewhere, I must look it out!

Nothing like a big full moon to bring out the spooky and the beautiful. Very unusual and interesting shadows!
