The Weekend In Pictures

Friday-silly glasses and helicopters.
We love it when helicopters fly over.
I hope they can see us waving.

On Friday night we went here, to see John Cale performing 'Paris 1919'. Very good.
Saturday morning-to the station.
Then St. Pancras.
Heading to Leicester to see our friends.
We had a bracing walk to the pub in the afternoon, a couple of relaxed pints accompanied by games such as hangman, a lovely curry for dinner and a go at Mario Cart on the Wii-quite fun! Hama bead art in their sitting room.
Rob, Louis and Claire.
People withdrawing cash to afford the vintage things in the fair. It was interestingly full of people dressed in a stylish vintage fashion. I bought a lovely handbag and various small things such as button cards, tin cars and rick-rack. Scrabble letter tiles made into jewellery seems to be a bit of a thing at the moment. The girl on the door had her name, Sarah, written across her cleavage in scrabble letters, drawing the eye somewhat!
Ned Trifle in action.
I like the wooden tiles on this building. It is part of DeMontfort University, formerly Leicester Polytechnic-where I (and Andy and Rob) went to college. Next we visited the Newarke Houses Museum. Not only was it interesting, but it had a chutney and jam sale in the tearoom-I got some lime curd and some chilli jam-both delicious!
Leicester's famous fat man, Daniel Lambert.
Prophetic labelling.(more to come on that later this week)
Spring sunshine-though it was freezing.
Mae
Affordable vintage sweets
Home again, and in the only normal part of the flat at the moment-the bedroom. The rest of it is in chaos due to an influx of furniture and other items from Andy's Mum. All lovley but with nowhere to go. I started some reorganising tonight when we got home. It will all be sorted by the weekend-I am determined!

Nice shades - they look like they belong to a roller disco outfit :)

The vintage fair sounds like something I would go to -- rickrack, button cards...nice.

Looks like a fully packed weekend!

((( I just read Daniel Lambert's Wikipedia page - he got up to over 783 lbs (52 stone). He must've had a medical condition, but the page doesn't say anything about that.)))

I'm just glad you didn't get the captions mixed up between me and Mr Lambert.

I love reading about your weekends, Sarah! Gosh, if only I could get to that vintage fair... mmm. Maybe next visit.
The glasses are a hoot! You need an entire outfit to go with.
The Fat Man of Leicester looks quite pleased about it, nonetheless.
Nothing better than a good catch up with good friends, good drink and good food.
Thanks for sharing!
