Things From Today

This is the new member of the household! I have no excuse such as she was a stray and needed a home. I just overheard a parent at school talking about how she had a kitten left that needed a home. I just wanted a little tiny kitten! I have only ever adopted strays and they have always been grown up. Tiger and Lily were six months so they were still big kittens then. I love my cats and did not want to upset them so have gone through a bit of worry and have been reading websites that made me think I had made a terrible decision. Selfishly though, it didn't stop me. Fingers crossed it has gone really well so far today. Little kitten is in the back room which is warm and cosy and has a view of the garden. The other two must be able to smell her but don't seem remotely bothered. I have been making lots of fuss of them too today just in case!
Isn't she lovely? She has really big ears and a little white tummy and paws. She is really affectionate and playful. Today we have played with a piece of string a lot. There is room for me to sit on the floor so I have had a peaceful few hours playing and fussing the kitten whilst reading my book. That is the way to spend a day! I did do some work-half of what I might have got done but that was more than I expected, and sometimes other things are just more important. We are considering what to call her but there is no rush-it will come to us I suppose!
Other sights today-from a quick trip to the craft shop this morning. The massed ranks of chicks waiting for someone to craft them into an Easter creation.
Beautiful silks.
I love the thread display but it makes me feel nervous when it comes to deciding which colour?! They look so gorgeous all together that decisions are hard. Luckily thread was not the purpose of my trip today. I wondered if I would be apprehended by a member of staff suspecting me of industrial espionage but nothing so exciting happened!

She's lovely Sarah! She already looks at home there on the windowsill. I'm sure they will all get on together fine. How lovely to have a baby in the house.
I love your header, all those gorgeous threads and colours. And as for those chicks, I don't think I've seen so many altogether like that before. It's also such a contrast from the shops here where everything is in such smaller amounts.
Wishing you a fun weekend with getting to know the kitten.

We are finally down to one cat- and he is getting very old...I don't think I will ever have another, these have had their way with everything in the house so when they leave to kitty cat paradise I will be relieved.
When in doubt at the thread store, buy one of everything and worry about groceries another day...I can not resist the French embroidery cord- must have all of it!
You kitten is , of course, adorable.

Aaaww Sarah, she's gorgeous!!! I suspected it might be a new kitty coming to stay and now I see why you couldn't resist her. Glad to hear Tiger and Lily aren't too put out :)

Craft store yumminess too... what fun! What did your trip yield or was it window shopping only?

Beautiful baby.
And I always have those tough decisions too when in a store with so many luscious colours, textures and spark.
These photos today are particularly fine ones!

Oh Sarah, your new little kitten is just so beautiful...and we are all so jealous! Mr Jones is now a very grumpy 16 year old , and I fear he would not welcome any new addition to our house! Have you considered "Keith" as a name? Andy wanted to call Lottie "Keith Kitten", but graham won the name argument ( he had a crush on someone called Charlotte at the time...) Love to you all, Sally xxx

Aw, your new addition to the family is a cutie.

How about the name Peep? Thinking Easter candy here.
