Shadows, Collages, Small Lives(on the sofa)

For the portrait class-such a fun type of collage to do!
The other one I did-it is Mariah Carey. She had great flicked hair in the photo which I have tried to recreate through the medium of collage.
Loved the colour combination of the blue plastic on the green table with shadows.
Clarice is wondering how she got here-she feels a bit suspicious that this might not actually be a room she is in, but somebody's sketchbook. She could have sat on the sofa but prefers the floor. The table at least seems real. The doorbell goes.
Thank goodness, Pamela has arrived, with her usual mixture of good cheer and things to share. Today she has brought a pumpkin (a bit out of season but it lasted) and some large shells. Pamela wants to know about the portraits on the wall in the strange book room, but Clarice knows nothing, so that avenue of conversation is soon finished. They go home, leaving just a shadow on a painting.
Visit Hey Harriet here for more shadows from around the world.

The top collage is stunning, the person surrounded by the words. Is this person a writer, a composer of prose and/or poetry. The portrait offers a description along with the picture. But the person being depicted does not need explanation. The posters tell a story, and it s nice that both artists are now together...

Like the "Kitchen Girls" said above: oh-so creative!

I'm intrigued with the story line with Pamela and Clarice. Are they regulars in your posts?

I'm guessing one of those portraits is based on you. A self-portrait, I should say. Definitely thought-provoking.

These are really wonderful portraits, Sarah! The one at the top has so many great qualities, as well as the painted ones. You are a wonder, really! I recall having once created my own self-portrait in collate one year in high school using torn up newspapers and other papers, yarn, all sorts--it was great fun! Not sure it look like me, but it was terrific fun just to play! Happy Valentine Weekend, my friend :o) ((HUGS))

So, so clever. I love these posts of yours. You make the characters come alive with words, as well as art(yes, I know, words ar art in their own way), in such a clever, but natural way. Does that make any sense? Not sure it does, but hey. Let's just leave it this shall we.... I think you are very clever and I just love popping over for a creativity feast and some'tiny world' life. Thanks! Enjoy half-term. Ros
