Then I read this book. The author was given a toy rabbit, and had a dream of it lying on the bottom of the sea. From that dream came this beautiful story. I had not heard of it, and bought it on the recommendation of the woman who came to do our staff meeting the other day. She was introducing a reading project and the main interest in the meeting for me was the long list of books! She said that this one would 'make you cry' and it did. I highly recommend it!
I did go out to Greenwich to get something to eat. The sun still has not come out so the mood was gloomy. The way the clouds hung around the top of Canary wharf and other tall buildings reminded me of being in Scotland in a cloud.
I liked the flashes of red of the cars and bus.
The Cutty Sark is still being rebuilt, and I had a look through the window to the work. Lots of activity and some good advice on their signs. They could mainly apply to the house too.
I have been listening to Dracula on radio 7 (my new favourite radio station) and looking at these boxes made me think of Dracula being transported across the sea. The steps that have been destroyed in the background have not been there that long. I wonder what they are doing to this area. I think it is all being tarted up in preparation for the olympics. I think that is the target for finishing the Cutty Sark.

Sounds like a nice day to me! I have been drawing most of the day. It is snowing here in Seattle area! Oh boy!
Books that make you cry- I am not sure that is a very good recommendation I can cry so easily!
I had forgotten about the Olympic deal...that will be a time to avoid- The security will be monumental- mental being the operative!
Snowing here but not sticking- just sort of party like- confetti and wind chimes chiming enthusiastically! Cold and dark- poopy.
A superb way to enjoy a misty day---good books, a fire, a film and, I would guess, some felines for company. Liked the photo of the brightly colored bus and autos perking up the gray weather.
Grey, grey city. My favorite pic is the photo of the Devo-men behind the green screen - complete with strange, angular, ironic new wave lyrics!
You know, I can't think of a book that has made me cry, although I feel like I *must* have cried while reading something at some point, surely...
I love when I'm on a big reading jag, that exhiliarating feeling I experience when I'm really plowing through a good book. Not just the experience of the story itself, but the keen awareness of the act of reading, of progress being made. It's good stuff!
Thank you for the book recommendations, Sarah--always on the hunt for a good read. At the moment I'm reading a biography on the composer Gustav Mahler--just love his works. Fun seeing the city photos... Oh, I miss London...*sigh*... Happy Day ((HUGS))
Sounds like a nice day. I wish we had rain. It's lots of snow for us in Montana and cold. I'm not sure, but I don't believe we're suppose to be above 20 if that. The fire sounds extra good to me.
A lovely day - you can't beat being curled up with a good book. I have finally had a warm sunny day, up in Falkirk to visit Stuart, but Malcolm didn't have such good weather!
Curled up with a good book sounds good to me! I also love a story that makes me cry!
It's sound's like a perfectly relaxing day!!
