You get more of a sense how tall it is here, compared to the tree in the background. Amazing!
This one is shorter but has a very pretty face.
The other nature related thing I saw today was a sleeping fox, when I went round to check on Forest School. He was fast asleep and had his back to me, so I was really close to him-and actually didn't notice him at first-the grass is really long on there now. The wind blew past me towards him and he started to sniff, then slowly turned his head-the look of horror as he scrambled away was really comical!

Ooo... that is a BIG sunflower--WOW! I just love sunflowers. That last shot is really a happy flower portrait. :o) ((HUGS))
What a fabulous sunflower!! I'm not too sure about getting that close to a fox!
Some of these are looking over my fence! Not as tall as yours though!
Sunflower volunteers grow here every year- this summer has been so dismal that they have not quite done so well. They usually topple from the weight of the blossom - your school sunflower must have a very sturdy stalk! The mice must regard it as the stairway to space!
The weather must have been perfect for sunflowers where you are. Wow! Tall! I'll bet the sleeping fox had to shake off the scare he got from getting caught napping. hehe
That is the biggest sunflower I have ever seen. Gorgeous!!
Sunflowers are so pretty! I pass a field of them on my drive to work. They are starting to die off now that autumn is here.
