Fused Plastic Sculpture

Yesterday's box was made from some of the fused plastic-thin enough to sew on the machine. It really was easy-just the net of a square with flaps left which allowed it to be sewn. Tonight I tried to make a butterfly from this lovely blue piece with very messy glitter. That did not come out too well so I kept playing around. I love using construction toys with the children at school and remembered the ones that fit together by having intersecting slots. So I cut a few pieces and had a play. I think if I gave it more thought I could make something good! I have just had fun making shapes. Then I made a physallis stand-what every modern household needs of course. I liked the orange with the blue of the plastic.

I know you will be able to make something good out of it.

I have no talent like that at all.

Oh man! I love this sculpture - I'm thinking you could use this stuff to make mobiles as well! And the box! Exactly my kind of thing! I'm going back to look at the tutorial and play around a bit ... Oh, PS, I loved how you describe how your dolls evolve - that is very much the way I work, even for my art journal pages. I usually don't have any plan, things just come together and I solve problems as they occur - it is a lovely way of discovering new methods and techniques. I have always hated to follow exact recipes, whether for cooking or craft! (I guess that is why I can't knit properly ...)

Oh my gosh, this is great! I am trying this, this coming weekend. What I would really like to do is make HOUSES for my dolls, etc.
Blue and orange are so great together. And I love making it up as I go. If something doesn't work, make it be something else...
Have fun!

I found the first photo very pleasing somehow. Great to recycle in this way and have fun.
Love your header as always, but this one required closer inspection.... of the book titles. I love Jodi Picoult, don't you?

Sensational, Sarah! You are such an inspiration! Such fun ways you are using plastic at the moment--and sewing with it too! I must give that a try sometimes. Plastic is the one thing I've not run through my sewing machine before--very exciting! Happy weekend, my friend :o) ((HUGS))
