Shadow Shot Sunday!

I am excited to be joining in with Tracy's shadow shot Sunday again! I have saved, and recent shadows to show. This is yesterday in Ladywell Fields in Lewisham. I am leaning on a bridge over the Ravensbourne river. I just found this map of Lewisham rivers and an interesting discussion on flickr which makes me want to explore further... Then I found this organisation that cleans up waterways-most interesting-and worthwhile. I didn't see a kingfisher but they are there! The water was so clear and looked very tempting for a paddle.
Lantern like fence shadow leading up to the building below. I love this building so it has been very sad to see it fall into disrepair over the years I have lived here.
Isn't that tower great?
This photo is of the house at school. It was the premises manager's house years ago, but has been used as extra storage and work space for a long time now. I love the way the shadow of the tree has a clear, square space to exist.
These photos are from February I think.

Join Tracy at HeyHarriet for more shadows!

That barrier on the bridge is beautiful, a protective grid that fall so nicely on the river below, as well as giving is a glimpse of the photo artist. The fence has vertical shadows that are great, the building in disrepair has a beautifully styled turret, with the shadow clinging to the stylish arc. The bare tree leaves a well defined shadow, although the less defined shadows created by a tree with leaves is what we seek. As always, lovely captures!

Nice series of shadowy photos, Sarah. I like the building with the tower. And I like the one of you leaning on the railing!

Happy shadow seeking this week!

I love the 2nd and 5th shots especially with the tree's shadow fitting the gable end.

On this side of the pond, kingfishers are very hard to photograph, at least for me. I agree, iit is sad to see old buildings fall into disrepare. I guess that they are expensive to maintain and rehabilitate but they have so much character.

Lovely, each and everyone of the shots. But I nearly fell off the bed when I read you are going to Great Dixter, you lucky duck! I met the late Christopher Lloyd when he came to Oregon years ago. He was quiet and I thought he didn't impress me at first sight like someone who would take off an entire garden of English roses to plant his showgirls kind of plants. But I had visited Great Dixter by then so I could see why he felt free to do so.

Please do take lots of photos, many people around here do not even know about what a gorgeous place it is and I am sure you are going to go into the nursery to then go home with a thing or two. I know I would and I wish I could go with you. Hugs from here.

Great set of shadow photos. I particularly like the lantern fence, and the optical illusion of a solid cube there. It's as if the shadow exists in three dimensions, which is quite an interesting idea.

Leaning on shadows—
how long will they support you?
Until dusk, at least.

Your shadows are lovely- the water so clear. The tree shadow on the school building has a life of it's own- Great Dixter? sounds like my puppy- I looked it up - amazzzzzing! You will take tons of photos! You could have named Cassie - Great Dixter , sounds very important doesn't it? wish I could go with you, wouldn't that be a lark!

An excellent series of shadow shots. I always love the shadows of trees- this photo of yours is particularly cool as the tree seems to be enveloping the squarish building - giving it life. Great eye for shadows Sarah! It's fun when you are looking for them- they seem to be all over the place!

Shadows are almost sinister in a fairytale sort of way, these of yours seem alive and interesting as if they have a tale to tell in the shadow lands half hidden in myth.....beautiful

I love the tree shadow turning real. My friends who owned a restaurant would have a huge Christmas tree by the fire and then put a small one on the roof, made to look like the bigger one went through the roof!
