What I have been listening to today

These are two short videos of our resident Robin, who, if I prayed, I would pray for. He comes and makes this noise -which seems like a warning noise to me-every evening. The cats sit and watch him. I don't know if there is a nest nearby. He doesn't seem scared though-I was only about four feet away at one point.

The other video is some lantern seed pods I have had since last year which are now outside-they are hanging over two mobiles I made-one from years ago and the other from quite some time ago too. The wind is making the lanterns look possessed I think!

The sound of the robin has come out really strangely. Oh well! But on the plus side, you can play them all at once!

Oh, I like! The lanterns are so pretty - I've never thought to keep them and present them like this. I suspect you are right and your robin has a nest nearby.
We keep threatening to add some video to the blog - I expect we'll discuss it for a couple of years before we get around to it ;-)

That is a cute wee bird though.
We don't get them here in NZ, but have similar little birds called fantails, that flit around like that, they make a squeaky little chirpy sound.

Have a great weekend.

I had lanterns like that in a previous garden - I used to dry them and put them in a vase! Love the clips of the robin - I think they can become quite tame.

Chubby little robin- looks as though it is telling you ...something...maybe that there are some eggs close by and you have cats and well , you know...she needs your cooperation, bells on the kitties might help- ours always learned how to walk so that they would not jingle, clever kitties... dead or wounded birds, many of them- My cat is too old to care now, everyone concerned is grateful.

Love the embedded video idea. cool. Robin is cute. I used to be fascinated by those lantern things as a child.

We have a yard full of robins. They are quite chipper and sing all day. We also have a male & female cardinal that lives in our yard and they love to "yell" at us when we are outside. I enjoy feeding birds so we attract all kinds.
