Mudchute Farm

Tuesday was really hot so the sprinkler was a welcome sight. A hot pig.
The farm is on the Isle of Dogs and you can see Canary Wharf and the other tall buildings of the area just over the hill. It is such a lovely open green space-32 acres.
There are loads of beautiful horses.

The sheep were sweet and friendly, especially as we had food for them.

This is a very happy pig who was most polite in the way he took the food from the children. You can't really do the flat hand thing that you do with horses and sheep as the pig's mouth seems to be arranged differently. So he opened his mouth gently and we kind of pushed the food in! I don't think all pigs are so polite, but this one was a sweetie.

Three just shorn sheep. I loved the way they were lined up.

No not all pigs are polite they sometimes bite! So do sheep, my friend has a farm and has had some nasty bites!!
It looks like a lovely day out, just the sort I enjoy. You can't beat scratching an obliging piggy.

What a lovely visit. The two don't seem to go together do they- farm, London? That pig does indeed look and sound a real sweetie. They're supposed to be quite intelligent aren't they.

Oh, I like that name - Isle of Dogs. Snous said she would like to visit and declare herself Queen. But only of the Isle of Dogs, mind you, she has no intention of messing with The Other Queen. That pig looks sooooo happy. I want to draw a picture of it!

It's so nice for children to be able to feed farm animals - very special.

Looks like a fun day for a trip to the farm. Even the red coats and wellies were probably fun. I, too, get a smile out of how animals will put themselves in a chorus line to mow down the field. :-D

What a lovely day out! When Stuart was in pre school nursery, I foolishly volunteered to be a helper on their day out to Edinburgh zoo - by the end of the day there was one little boy in my group whom I could have quite happily fed to the lions!!

Love city farms. Decided to follow your blog but couldn't find followers buttons, unfortunately.
