Rearranging

This is a rough plan of our flat drawn in photoshop. I enjoyed drawing it. It is not very accurate but gives the idea of the floorplan of our flat. The bedroom is at the front and the garden out the back with no access apart from through the house. (There is an alley but it only reaches to next door) I am very good at putting other things behind and inside each other to maximise space. I don't always remember they are there but that at least adds an element of surprise! I have been looking at the messy and overcrowded bedroom for ages pondering what I could do with it. It is still overcrowded but better arranged so looks less so. I have a sweet little desk which belonged to my Great Aunt Peggy. I had put it on top of Andy's book case for ages and it kind of worked but I wanted to use it as a desk rather than just storage. It is the right height for a cat wanting to look out the front window, so I thought I would put it there and swap it with the little bookcase my brother made for me, which served this purpose before, but with room for only one. I managed to fit the desk and the bookcase, so now there is room for all three cats.
Andy has a collection of books about Napoleon, and two beautifully framed prints. This one has been living at the back of my sock box for a while as I could not find anywhere for it. Once the desk had come off the top of here I could make a little space for it and Andy's little boxes of cufflinks etc. At this point in my endeavours I was accused of thinking I live in a magazine! I like it though!

Here is the little desk. Now I can blog at the same time as nosing out of the window-should I want to!

This photo is called 'Yes'. As in, 'Yes I do have teddies on top of the wardrobe.' I may not have grown up but I can't throw away anything with a face! I have terrible trouble at work. At least now the teddies and foxes have been arranged tastefully, and the lovely old suitcases of Andy's Dad's are being shown off.
Our virus continued so we rang PC world in the end and a lovely man advised us how to get rid of it. If it is any help to anyone who gets a similar thing this is the gist of it. I had tried to do a system restore, but nothing was working due to the virus. To overide this you have to continuously press the F8 key as the computer is starting up. Then do full destructive recovery-but only if your files are backed up as this gets rid of it all. It has worked though, hurray! Now we just have to see if i-tunes will come back!

Well done on your rearrangements - it is always satisfying when plans work out and you don't have to end up putting it all back where it was!! I love your grey nail polish ..... it is just about time to start doing the toenails again!!

Aw, I love that you drew the kitties camped out on the bed.

Don't you love how moving things around can make a place feel totally different and new (at least for a while)? I'm always wanting to rearrange the furniture. My boyfriend thinks I'm a little nuts.

Sorry to hear your pc has been unwell - hope it's all better now, including itunes!
I like your floor plan and am pleased to see that the cats sleep in your bedroom :-)
It's good to rearrange and I used to do it a lot but now . .
. too much clutter.

GOOD JOB Sarah! WEll done!I love that you can not toss anything with a face- I have that same dysfunction-when i venture into an antique or junk shop I have to rearrange those things with faces so that they look comfortable. Have you seen the multi purpose furniture, German made I think- anyway it is brilliant for smaller homes. If I can find a link I will send it off to you.
Have a great day in your cozy flat with the kitties and Napoleon.

heheh love the cuddly toys. I'm the same but mine are in my wardrobe out of sight. Mainly because I have horrendous allergies lol. We're also rearranging our place. We moved in almost 2 yrs ago now and not really done anything to it so slowly decorating (just paint), pictures on walls, more storage, shelves, etc.. I love it. Makes everything seem different. Love your little outline of your flat. Creative! Oh and love your new header graphic. x

I love having a rearrange once in a while. Notice I say 'once in a while'. It happens very rarely, but when it does, it always feels good. Love the pic of teddies and cases. Also love thelove cats' in your previous post. They areally are the most adorable pussy cats. Hope you have a good week. Ros

Floor plans on computers are a great way to re-arrange all day without hearing hubby moan about shoving furniture. I had a tiny office I had to grid out before moving a computer, a heap of cables and a bunch of components. Worked.

Fun to see some of your wonderful "stuff." You are so considerate to make a viewing perch for your felines.

And it's true about Linda Sue arranging things with faces in the stores. I have photos to prove it.

Hello dear Sarah,

Ah, Teddies. We have teddies and bunnies all over the place. I was telling Barry yesterday that the people at the Hospital probably by now refers to me as "you know, that exccentric little old lady with the foreign accent" :) so the idea of keeping teddies and bunnies fits me to a T and one of these days when things calm down some, I will post about the large family of teddies and bunnies we love to bits and I won't think of putting them anywhere but in plain view.

Thank you for your visits, it always does my heart good to see your name and thank you for being the kind and lovely person you are.

Hugs from here.

I like the flat cats drawn on the bed!
If your iTunes is empty, open up the Music section of your computer and drag the iTunes folder into the empty library list in iTunes and it will import all the tunes again.
I had the operating system upgraded on mine and thought that I had lost all the songs, and then I thought I would try dragging them in, and it worked x

Your kitties are so sweet. Rearranging always makes things seem fresh and new. I used to collect teddy bears but decided to only keep the really special ones and part with the rest. I still have plenty. :) Happy day to you. Tammy

I had such a laugh when I saw your teddies. I also keep my old teddies and soft toys (but inside a cupboard - I don't want people to laugh at me ...) I gave away one - a lovely mournful doggie - to the neighbour's little girl when she broke her leg. This was just before the relationship between us and them broke down completely. I hope he didn't make her throw it away! PS I have two storage boxes for magazines that I have put below the window for Snous to sit on - she can then poke her nose out of the window and have a good neighbourhood sniff every now and then.

Teddies at the top of the wardrobe--I LOVE that! In my studio I have a cozy stuffed toy Westie dog my Mum gave to me. I used to have a real Westie a looong time ago, so this dog brings lots of happy memories. And I have a good many Hello Kitty bits & bobs... I highly believe in keeping the inner child alive--keeps us young. ;o) A good rearrange is a good thing sometimes. As I'm in the midst of a big spring clean, I know what you mean. Your bathroom looks HUGE! Happy Week, Sarah ((HUGS))
