Shadow Shot Sunday

This is a photo from school this week. Ruby was learning how to ride a new type of bike and also trying to balance her baby on her knees. When she passed the number line, she carefully balanced the baby on number 5. There is a little shadow-of me taking the photo! Number two was taken today, when I went out to get a sandwich for lunch, and to get away from writing reports! This is a very recently built church and I was amused to see the cross, still in its wrapping, laying around waiting to be fitted. It just looks disrespectful somehow. Again, this was not planned as a shadow shot but there is a bit of shadow around the eaves of the building.

Happy SSS-go here to visit more shadow shooters at Hey Harriet. Happy Ist anniversary too!

The cross, on its side like that makes me think of a Station of the Cross, when Jesus fell with the weight of his burden.

(Oh, I'm a Catholic, by the way.)

Yes I see what you mean. I just can't believe they left it lying around like that.

Hi Sarah, thanks for visiting my blog. I'm with you on the taxidermy, and I don't know why! As an animal-lover one might expect that we wouldn't like stuffed dead animals, but I have to say, this is a strange thing I do like - the museums, etc. Maybe I just like to see how they look up close. Have you found others who share this (strange?) interest? I can see that you love animals, too :)

Me too, I make sure not to miss the stuffed animals! I've heard that they did a marvelous upgrade of the Museum of Natural History in London a couple of years ago. They certainly had some degraded animals when I visited many years ago. I hope to see its new incarnation. There's a small museum "stuffed" with stuffed animals a couple of hours from were I live (it's near Tillamook, Oregon), and I'm reminded I need to go back again. It's old-style with a lot of cool animals. If you're ever in Oregon, don't miss it :)

The baby shot is touching somehow- I can picture the little girl carefully placing it there. And the cross- I can't believe they left it like that either. Around here, someone would have stolen it by now.

Balancing babies is quite a feat! Catching shadows is easier - don't you think?

The cross - we agree....seems a bit weird that they left it like that!

Wow, that is really odd to see the cross like that. It does seem wrong somehow. The top photo is cute!

I see the shadows too. I second demotion to Poetikat the the cross looks like a Station of the Cross.

Anyways, your shots are cool!
