Skye Skies

We got back today after two days journey. You could do it in one but it would be exhausting. We stayed in Cumbria last night and left at five this morning. The roads were clear so we were back here by ten, in plenty of time to collect Cassie from the cattery. I love going away but I love coming home-especially to see the little cats! Our holiday was on the island of Skye off the west coast of Scotland. It has truly awe inspiring scenery. Imagine you are at my house in the seventies, and this is the beginning of a long and possibly tedious evening of slide shows of my holiday snaps! But no, luckily it is the tens and you only have to tap the little arrow key to see 26 of my favourite sky, water and mountain shots! So much easier, you are not a captive audience, and I have saved a large amount on the nibbles and wine. Having said that I would of course love to have you round for wine and nibbles. And love you to look at all the wonder as well of course! Quite a few of these are taken from just outside our holiday cottage on Broadford Bay. There were constantly changing skies and amazing sunsets.

Oh my goodness, looking at these I remember why I like to go to Northern Scotland- that amazing water. I'm glad you had some sun and hope you weren't too troubled by midges! :)

These photos are breathtaking! It is impossible to pick a favorite. What a good eye you have for beauty and what a wonderful place. No wonder you came back with a camera full of pictures. Thank you thank you. I clicked and enlarged almost all of them.

Beautiful pictures, Sarah. Are you going to do something with them? A calendar or postcards maybe? I miss my animals when I'm away as well.

It was so stunning there that it was hard not to take a good photo! I would love to make something of them-that's a good idea! I have been printing lots of pogo pictures for my journal!

WOW... such photos, such light! I love the one where there almost seems to be a double sun! I've long been fascinated by the Isle of Skye and longing to go there one day. It looks a transformational type of place...*sigh*... So glad you got to go away to such a landscape, Sarah. Welcome home :o) ((HUGS))

These look so much like where I live- The sky in particular. The photos are gorgeous- especially the shot of the two bright spots- The twentieth shot I think.

These photos are breathtaking, Sarah. I'm going to make you laugh now. When I was a teen, I use to read the Historical romances. There were a couple located in the Island of Skye. I thought it was a made up place. Had no idea it was real. So cool to know it exists and is beautiful.
