Parakeets, Balloons and Halloween Excitement!

Yesterday our friends Jessica and Simon came to London and we met up with them in Greenwich Park in the afternoon. They have two lovely children-Miles and Polly. We took them to see the deer in the park. We saw deer, magpies on deer, squirrels, a fox trotting by, pigeons, crows and parakeets. I love seeing these birds, I never get over the excitement of the strange call they have and their exotic green colour as they fly past. They are all around this area and I am sure I will see one in the garden one day. I took a picture-very far away, cropped it, saturated the colour and poladroided it-and the bird came out a bit green! The balloons are from yesterday too-some sort of mini festival going on near the bandstand. The other photos are halloweeny type things-it is the Halloween party at A Fanciful Twist this weekend which is very exciting! If you like dogs you should visit Vanessa at her magical home today as she has just got the most beautiful puppy!
P.S. I don't actually know what the last photo is of but I liked its ghostly effect.

Ooh I'd love to see parakeets! We don't live far from London and I have hopes that one day they'll spread a little further west! So good you had a pleasurable day - it sets you up for the days ahead, doesn't it?

Gorgeous parakeet - she really caught me eye(I own parakeets). Your photo work is so inspiring and I love your blog banner (is it new)? Wonderful work Sarah!

Fantastic shots -- and that parakeet! Colours that we can only hope to recreate in art, I bet. Love that last shot in particular.

Seems like your weekend was a good one. And yes, that little puppy of Vanessa's is some punkin!

Take care.

I think I saw an item on tv recently that said that parakeets are actually becoming a problem, as they are breeding so successfully in the wild, and there was talk of a cull .... but it would be so sad to lose such lovely birds!!

I'm another parakeet fan !

I hate it that we don't celebrate Halloween here. Your pictures are brilliant. You seem to be mastering poladroid really well.
PS. I enjoy looking at your work at the 'outside of myself' blog, too; very creative.

I like that last one as well - reminds me of the Titanic in the fog.
It amazes me that parakeets are just flying loose in London. It seems like a Dali painting or something.
I love your "deer, magpies on deer, and fox-trotting squirrels. Would love to have witnessed all that.

I love your banner. I rather like Magpies tho' I know a lot of people don't.
It sounds as though you had a great time with your friends.
Just off to see Vanessa's new puppy.
