Crochet Swatches!

Here they are at last. I was waiting for a day when I was in and there was sun as they don't photograph well in artificial light.
This is called Zen something or other, and it is called this because you are supposed to be lulled into a zen like state of calm by the rhythm of the stitches. That didn't occur for me, and out of all of the patterns I have tried found this to be the most annoying-and I don't usually get annoyed with crochet!
This is called 'broomstick lace' and you use a stick of some sort to make the loops around hence the name. You pull the loops up through the stitch below then leave them. I worked out a way of doing it without the stick and it was not too hard-just needed a bit of patience. Then on the way back along the row you pick up four stitches and single crochet them together. I tried loops of different sizes which makes the graduation in size of the lacy part.
This is called something like blueberry stitch (I haven't got my kindle on at the moment so am guessing).
This was the pattern where I needed to resort to looking at the visual pattern as it got complicated. Once I started using the visual chart it became easy and fun. It is a pineapple pattern.
I am not sure of the name of either of these but they were both pretty simple.
I love this one. It is called arches (I think!) and was easy and quick to build up.
I love this one too-trefoil pattern.
Below is the beginning of a ripple cushion. I have a problem though-how to make the zig-zags become straight. I need to look it up but for the moment am crocheting little squares to fit in the gaps!

All of your samples are wonderful! I am impressed- crochet can do anything it seems! So can YOU! I hope your handiwork in the bathroom came out well. Crochet looks like it involves math, and thinking- I really love what you are doing but my tiny brain would have so much trouble!
The little town in previous post is adorable! Must go there someday!

Well done, all lovely. You'll have to make a sampler throw with them all.

Seeing all your crochet is sooo inspiring, Sarah! The arches and blueberry stitches are my faves too. :o) Your ripple is coming along lovely--pretty colors! Your ripples look very nice so far. Have you missed your stitch count? I know on my ripple on the go now, I made a mistake early on in one row and my stitch count between the peek and valley was off, but I just increased in that row and that made the difference. Does that make sense?! LOL... still learning the crochet thing. Did you say you were using the 200 Crochet Blocks book by Jan Easton? Happy Hooking ((HUGS)

I am so happy to read this. This is the kind of manual that needs to be given and not the random misinformation that's at the other blogs. Thanks for sharing this.
