I have seen toy frogs that look like this and so was impressed with the reality of these. A few of the Polish Papercuts which were beautiful. I sped round them at small lively boy speed but still managed to enjoy them as did the small lively boy!
The older ones were made with sheep shearing scissors can you believe.
Oh Sarah what a treat! I remember as a little girl the nuns used to sit during recess and cut little doilies like paper with the most, to us anyway then, impossible subjects. Little Dutch girls with wooden shoes carrying pails of milk with winged hats, geese and swans, chickens and owls with big round empty eyes.
The had tiny pointed scissors and move the paper around instead of the scissors. We were completely convinced that it was magic and to some extent, it was. I have always admired people who can do thing like these ones, them and the magical Tibetan monks who can make a Mandala out of colored sand are great, wonderful mystics to me because their art requires what I don't have when I need it the most: patience.
Oh I do love paper anything, but the cutouts are so so special. Thank you so much for sharing these. Hope that full speed ahead boy didn't wear you out! LOL. x Candace

Hi, Sarah! Love the papercuts! My fave is the second-from-the-last one that looks like a huge mandala. Gorgeous! :-)
