After the runners have gone and an award

Today was the London Marathon-go here for some fun pictures! This year was the first one for ages that I didn't get up and go outside to watch but instead watched it on the telly whilst eating my breakfast. The runners start just up the road from here and later on I had to go to Sainsbury's. I drove the first four miles of the route (only four miles -seems like a long way to me-how do they do it?!) This man hung off the back of his van, and, as it slowed down just enough, he leant down to pick up cones marking the route. I love how health and safety governs so much of our lives and then there are little windows of risk taking like this! I can't talk, I was taking photos whilst driving! I was going extremely slowly.

I was pleased to see many well sign posted toilet opportunities around the course too! The picture may or may not enlarge when you click on it-it has a mind of its own, but that is a toilet sign there! I was visiting some of my blogging friends and was pleased and surprised to see that Shell at Swan of Dreamers had passed this award on to me. She is a talented actress, and all round literary star! She is a good blogging friend to me, so thanks Shell! This award is in honour of Renee, an amazing person who I am sure many of you know. She is an inspiration in her strength, honesty and kindness.
It is in the form of an acorn, a small package becoming a tall and sturdy oak giving more acorns, becoming tall and sturdy oaks, giving acorns…Visit Bella to find out more. She created the award with Ces-visit her here.
I started blogging, not knowing what to expect, just that I really wanted to do it. The best thing about it is the friendships I have made and continue to make. I don't know why I didn't expect that but I didn't! I would like to pass this award on to these friends...
Candace, Eye Candy
Liz, Tidbits From Liz
Janine, Justbeans
Allegra, Beading Stars
Vanessa, A Fanciful Twist
Lynne, Bun Mountain Cottage
Anairam , Fra-(a)iing
Di, Charmingly Simple
Kendalee, Dance of a Painted Lady
and
Elizabeth-About New York
It may seem that I have chosen a lot of people but I think they all deserve it! And I think I may have missed some too.

Oh goodness, how exciting - thank you Sarah! I was scrolling down, still giggling at the health and safety quip (so true!) and then thinking about Renee (an inspiration), and how you so deserved the award... and then saw my own name. It caused a bit of a double-take. Cool! Thank you, you're lovely and I'm so pleased that we've intermet too!

Darling Sarah I see I have already arrived in the form of an award.

Guess what, the girls are doing great. They had a little squabble because spring wanted all of my attention. I said I would share it much more evenly from now on.

They are so beautiful and such a joy.

I love them.

Oh my goodness, now I have TWO Renee awards, I see... lol. Mmm. What to do? And a couple of others, to boot. Goodness, I should have gone into theatre!

Sarah, these shots make me want to pack up a bag and head back over to London asap. You have a true gift with that camera! Watching anything on the tube these days might be the better of the deal.

Take great care and thank you again.

Oh, Sarah, thank you! That is so sweet of you! Blogging has been a surprise to me too (especially in how much time I spend browsing & blogging; and also that it changes the way I look at everyday things. I am always thinking - "Hey, I can blog about that!") And yes, that one builds up friendships, and that I actually care about the people behind the blogs! I mean, it is kind of weird, isn't it?

Hi Sarah,
Sorry you missed my giveaway, maybe next time. It was such fun I'm keen to do it again!
Anyway, thank you for the award. It's very kind of you. And of course congratulations on receiving the award!
I love being part of the blog world and love too that I've made friends through it.
I just have to figure out how to put the icon on my blog now. I've had problems doing it before!
I loved a previous comment you left on mine, (not sure why I didn't get back to you), about the children at nursery having an Easter egg hunt but they weren't sure of the concept of finding them.
My 3 year old grandson at the time was helped last year by his 10 year old cousin. So he had no trouble in understanding with her help.
Your comment reminded me of a game my daughter introduced us to. You throw a die and if you throw a six you win a prize. After they're all won you then 'steal' them from other people by throwing a six. My grandson joined in this game at his fourth birthday party tea. It was just family so he was the youngest. You could see the look of puzzlement on his face when the 'stealing' began. He understood eventually. He often tells his mum and dad to stop being silly apparently! Well he is a Capricorn like me, they can be serious.
Well thanks once again Sarah.
Fancy you living so close to where the London marathon takes place. Ever thought of entering!!!
