Today was very bright and sunny and I went for another long walk-down to the river, passing through the local shopping park which was virtually empty, with many of the shops closed. There was a snow plough clearing the car park for tomorrow, for all those people who have been deprived of shopping for two days. This is my road at about ten this morning.
The beach-I like the horizontal lines in this picture and the way the snow stops at the edge.
These are flats right next to the river. These flats overlook the beautiful ecology park there.
A little moorhen on the ice. His friend below has an icy drip on the end of his beak!
I could imagine being in a Scandinavian wood at this point. The only people I saw when amongst all this beauty were a couple of dog walkers and another woman taking photos of the same snowman as me. Again, people were unusually friendly.
This is on the way back-the snow was really starting to melt.
I saw some great snowmen again today-this one is quite traditional.
This one not so much.
There is a definite trend for building snowmen on top of bins and walls. I liked the face of the one on the left.
This one is my favourite! He has his briefcase ready for work but is giving a cheery thumbs up as the snow has prevented him from getting there.
Tomorrow gets back to normal although I am not at school but on a course-'Forest School' which we are going to start at my school, once I know all about it. I am going on the bus though as the roads still look very slippery. My next post will be something different-not sure what but not snow! Though the odd photo might creep in here and there!

Hi, Sarah! Isn't snow fun when you don't normally get it that often? I especially like the well-endowed snow-lady! That's hilarious! :-)
I love all of the snowmen. How cute! We got snow last night and are getting more tonight. I will post about it tomorrow. We didn't get nearly as much as you.
I enjoyed your walk today. Especially all the different snowpeople.
You seem to be having lots of fun in the snow! I love all the snowmen, how creative people are. I believe my daughter and grandson were building a snowman and a snowshark!
I like the photo of the flats reflected in the water. It's funny, but where you mention a Scandinavian wood, it is very similiar to some photos I took the other day.
Hope the snow stays a while for you and you continue to enjoy it.
I love your photos but I am glad it is not snowing here we had more than enough!
Now I am just hoping that Mt. Redoubt volcano in Alaska doesn't blow "ash snow" in our direction. I just hope we don't feel anything here in Washington at all when it blows! What next?
Thanks for sharing your photos!
I liked the snow lady too!
Look forward to seeing your snowy pictures Liz. Thanks Shell!
A snow shark sounds fun Lynne. I like the reflection photo too-I was going to cut it down to just the reflection but decided against it-but they look a bit like an impressionist painting. It would be a nice place to live there but I would worry about being quite so close to the river.
That volcano sounds a bit scary Justine-hope you are not affected. You know I have not even heard about that and it sounds like big news. The snow not only brought the country to a standstill but also took over the news!
Not boring at all! I love the heart and that trees picture - stunning!
That last one is, by far, the best snowman I've seen this year. Brilliant.
