This weed is Green Alkanet I have discovered tonight.
It is a nuisance in the garden but is so pretty. In the description I read it is
supposed to like damp shady spots. Not true! It grows anywhere. The flowers are edible though and would look lovely on a salad or little cakes.
when you get into the habit of taking photos everyday, i find that the day is not complete unless a shot is taken.
ReplyDeleteOh so sorry you have been feeling poopy...Hope you are on the mend- Love the photo of the "weed' with text on it- cool!
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better now, Sarah - half-term beckons :-)
ReplyDeleteI like the green alkanet - don't think I've ever seen it before. I like iris too but never seem to be able to grow them.
Hi Sarah, hope you are keeping better - I guess you are susceptible to colds and flu working with children!! Funny how we both had a photo of the same plant - great minds etc!! Did you know that dogs eat grass to make themselves sick? Love, Anne
ReplyDeleteHi, Sarah! Love the close-up of Cassie in the long grass. And your iris is stunning! :-)
ReplyDeleteCassie has grown so much! I hope you are feeling better, I absolutely despise the flu in any of its nasty incarnations. Have plenty of tea and keep on resting even when you feel better. The body needs it. Hugs from here.
ReplyDeleteThe iris is a gorgeous colour, mine are the boring yellow ones...oi09
ReplyDeletefunnily enough i was only saying to Gary the other day how lovely those weeds are. now i know what they're called.
ReplyDeleteOh - so sorry to hear you've had the 'flu - no good at all! Love your pussy cat and those irises again!
ReplyDeleteThat is a fabulous picture of Cassie. Haunting, actually.
ReplyDeleteI love that picture of Cassie! So good! We have purple irises growing around our mailbox. I actually found them several years ago growing under neath a fallen tree. I transplanted them and this is the first year that they have bloomed. They are beautiful flowers! Sorry to hear that you had the flu. I hope you are feeling better now!
