So I made my own. Then I googled 'eclipse poetry' and in that way it often does, the magical google found this which I really like.
The Eclipse
I stood out in the open cold
To see the essence of the eclipse
Which was its perfect darkness.
I stood in the cold on the porch
And could not think of anything so perfect
As mans hope of light in the face of darkness.
Richard Eberhart
Well, Sarah, at least there was a possibility you could see it. The U.S. is about the only place in the world that will not be in the right place or time to view the eclipse.
ReplyDeleteI like your version better, anyway.
I agree with Leenie. I rarely get to see any eclipses. I can only use my imagination to think how beautiful it looks in person.
ReplyDeletei must be on a different planet, for i didnt even know there was an eclipse last night!
ReplyDeleteYes I did take the fox picture Kat. He just appeared last week while we were in the nursery-but no kids as home visits. He walked across the playground, looked straight at me and opened and closed is mouth. It was really strange! I saw him again yesterday after school. Our school is called Foxfield so he is quite at home!
ReplyDeleteAmazing pics I watch it too it was something increadible. The colors of the moon I can't compare with anything else, absolute beauty.

Oh, I love that, Sarah... sometimes you just got to make what you want, what you want to see! ;o) We didn't see it either sadly, too overcast... :o( So I've spent my tea break looking online at what others DID get to see around the worlds... haha! Happy Day ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteI was at a show last night, so didn't get to look for the moon. We did see a nice big moon on our way to dinner, but no eclipse. Maybe I should make my own eclipse, too...
ReplyDelete(also: foxes are so beautiful. I've never seen one in the flesh. What a lucky sighting!)
Oops! Lol! I love your humor!
ReplyDeleteThe only way for us to see it was to watch the animated one at Google.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure you know that my new laptop decided to commit suicide and typing on the iPad I found out makes my fingers hurt :) - The surgery went fine, he is of course, much better than I am since I need to go back to normal after all the stress and so forth.
I hope you got some excellent news and that everything is fine. Know that there is a lit candle and nothing but good thoughts of loving friendship are sent your way. Hugs from here.
It was a filthy night here for the lunar eclipse so we didn't even go outside.
ReplyDeleteYou asked if I had a story in mind - sort of - I'll have to work on it;-)
Your eclipse is beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing it with us since we had no chance over in this part of the world!
