Hastings

We were back at the beach today in a different part of the country. We visited our friends in Hastings and as it was such a beautiful sunny day I got lots of shadow photos for Shadowshot Sunday. Visit Hey Harriet here for lots more!

This is one of the fishing boats that had just landed. They head full speed for the beach, go up onto the shingle a little way and then are winched in. It is most exciting to watch!

This is all of us on the windy end of the promenade-we wanted to throw stones into the sea.


This is a very scary looking ride which stronger stomached people than me were enduring.

    I'm trying to pick a fave but I love each one for different reasons. I really enjoyed how the sequence went from quiet b&w through to loud in-your-face colour! A super set of shadows :)

    Great shots Sarah. It's a long time since I had an English day out at the seaside but your postings brought back lots of memeories. I thought the fist picture with the boat on the ocean was beautifully composed...very atmospheric.

    The shadow shot is like something I would expect to see in a movie. The last colourful shot is fun! I would have to sit that ride out with you, however, Sarah. Got plenty of that as a kid...

    I love visiting the English seaside with you.
    Looks pretty chilly to me - but is still chilly in NY too.
