Mud

We had lots of fun in the mud yesterday. In our Forest School sessions, the children have some basic equipment-baskets for collecting things(treasure baskets), trowels, and yesterday I added water and buckets. Once they have something then it is available every week, so they can repeat the activities they choose as many times as they need to. Water and earth soon led to mud! They had such fun-and so did I watching them! The mud was that perfect oozy kind-just right for mud pies. My life has been vastly improved by the addition of a hose pipe to the nursery garden-so I don't have to lug the water out there in the morning-hurray! Above are I.'s hands, and below are M.'s feet. We still had hot chocolate as our drink, despite the hot weather. I had some disappointed faces last week when I gave them squash instead.

I think your nursery children are very lucky! It looks sooooo good! Nothing like squelchy mud for little hands and feet to explore. Enjoy the weekend! Ros
